Description: Presented is a lovely set of 12 Mintons dinner plates, dating to 1927. The plates have a wide border in a lovely rich shade of mottled blue, like a dark denim moreso than the typical cobalt blue, with fine gold gilt rims. The gilt rims have intricate floral decoration in high finish gold against a more matte finish, for a very elegant touch. This set of plates is in excellent overall condition. The gilding is in great shape. The are some little abrasions/losses to the blue color on some of the plates, just tiny white pinpricks mostly, only two or three actual lines, none of which are very noticeable, just the kind of thing that occurs with plates stored in a stack with nothing between them. The centers don't have any knife marks that I could find. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The plates are stamped with the Mintons mark on the underside as well as a retail mark for Davis Collamore & Co, New York. There is also an impressed yearmark for the year 1927.
