It is hoped it may add to the interest of the many English-speaking railway enthusiasts who study and sample Swiss railways. All the details have been checked against official and other published data regarded as reliable plus many personal observations of the authors and their friends up to mid-1973. Although great care has been taken it is inevitable some errors have occurred and the authors will be grateful to readers for pointing them out in as much detail as possible by writing to E.R.S. at 96 Antrobus Rd, Sutton Coldfield, Warks, H73 5EL. SCOPE - The text covers the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), all private railways with not less than 40 route km. and some shorter lines with unusual features.
