Instead of simply printing out a bunch of digital copies, they have tracked down the original printing plates, most of which were created decades ago, and brought them out of retirement. This includes all 23 of its feature films, but all 49 visuals, incuding the alternate illustrations, that were used to promote the films during their original release. This historical collection of posters and theater pamphlets includes art that has been largely forgotten by modern fans. This, being Studio Ghibli, they have stayed as faithful as they could to the original process. In reprinting, the original printing version at the time of publication is used. "Complete reproduction" has been achieved by reproducing and printing non-standard ink colors (special inks other than the four colors normally used in printing) that are often used in Ghibli posters to make sure the fresh batch of posters' colors are rich, authentic and bright. The posters are being sold in B2 size (as was the original poster measurement) measuring 51.5 cm wide x 72.8 cm long (20.3 inches x 28.7 inches). While they cover 23 titles, there are actually 49 different posters, i.e., many films had two or more posters, with some of these alternates being designs that have rarely been seen since the anime left the theaters... such as the SPIRITED AWAY poster with Chihiro sprawled out in the back seat of her parent's car.
