Description: Laurentthomasite Here is an uber rare natural Laurentthomasite gemstone from Madagascar! Laurentthomasite is a newly discovered milarite-group mineral species that was first reported in 2018, the most important find was in April 2019, and was published in the European Journal of Minerology (Volume 32, Issue 3). This new gem species has strong dichroism and traces of scandium. The main find was limited, and pieces gemmy enough to be faceted were extremely rare. This oval gem measures 4.23mm X 3.19mm X 1.92mm and weighs 0.18cts. The stone has nice color and is untreated.
