Good condition, approximately 4.5" x 7" to the paper edges #1 499 Broadway lithograph -Sarony Mayor and Knapp Antique color lithograph print published in D. T. Valentine's 1861 manual of New York City, shows a view of a pyrimidical section of the Transaatlantic Cable being drawn by horse-team through the city, with sailors of the ship Niagara carrying a model of the vessel behind. great condition, approximately 4.5" x 7" to the paper edges. Note Saronys caption for this lithograph is in error, as the Report states that: the Adams Express Company car was drawn by twelve horses and followed the crew of the Niagara; it carried a Hughes telegraph instrument and a banner inscribed American Telegraph Company. The lithograph above actually shows the cable pyramid and six horses of the American Express car, as described in the Report:
