Description: "This is the most gorgeous gown that we have come across in 40 years of dealing vintage. It's a 1950s classic. Demure, sweet, innocent, delicate, traditional...all of these words come to mind. Besides that, it's in beautiful condition (She didn't walk all over her train and spill food down the front!). The gown is made from silk satin of exceptional quality. The bodice is fitted and made with floral lace with white beads and iridescent tiny sequins. The edging of the capped sleeves and neckline follow the floral shapes of the lace. The entire gown has stiffening facing beneath the silk satin. The back has a row of covered buttons, for adornment purposes. It has a zipper closure down the back. The bow on the back waist is set on the diagonal. The same lace that the bodice is made up of is used down the back of the skirt and flows into the train. We haven't steamed it yet, but we're certain it will be stunning. Our mannequin is about a size 6/8. She has a 36" bust and 29" waist. The gown fits her perfectly. Measurements, laying flat: *note* There are no shoulder seams so we've used a typical measurement of 15" 15" across shoulders 3" sleeves; relative to a 15" shoulder seam 16.5" underarm to underarm across the back 20" underarm to underarm across the front, including bust shape 13.5" across high waist; the seam is 14.5" down from the shoulder 57" front length; train is 27" longer When I measure the dress on the mannequin -- 17" down from the top of the shoulder -- the waist line measures 27.5". It's very much dependent upon where your waistline is in relation to your shoulder." This description was provided to me by the original seller. I purchased this incredible dress from another online seller for my own wedding, but I decided to go with another dress. The dress is beautiful, however I decided that I didn't want a train and couldn't bring myself to chop this one off. No alterations have been done and it has not been dry cleaned or steamed. This dress is in perfect condition. Due to the age of the dress and wrinkles from shipping, you will need to have it cleaned and steamed, although I advise bringing it to your tailor beforehand. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you have. I know how big of a decision this is and I am so happy to be flexible and help when/where I can. Harley
