Vintage 1960's Sandoz Tropicalized Watch w/Divers Case,AS 1562N FOR PARTS/REPAIR

Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The AS 1562N automatic movement does not run. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1960's Sandoz has an aged "SWISS" only signed dial and the original lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has developed a lovely patina. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is faintly stamped "TROPICALIZED WATERPROOF | SHOCKPROTECTED SWISS MADE | ALL STAINLESS STEEL" with "AUTOMATIC" followed by "DATE" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "HENRY SANDOZ & FILS" followed by "SWISS." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 25 jewels Swiss "HENRI SANDOZ & FILS" AS 1562N automatic movement does not run. The date wheel rolls over at 12 am. While the original signed crown can be wound and the time set patience is required when doing so as neither is easily done. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 34 mm excluding the crown, approximately 35.5 mm including the crown and approximately 17.75 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 7 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm. At a minimum a complete overall is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
