Description: ***********Although the manual wind movement keeps accurate time over an approximate 41 hour power reserve period given its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. As most clearly seen in pictures 14 and 15 a piece of the bracelet is missing, requiring replacement prior to being worn.***********This vintage 1973 Caravelle, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a lovely greyish black "T" signed dial with blue accents and the lume, which emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "CARAVELLE | STAINLESS STEEL CASE | ANTI-MAGNETIC | WATER RESISTANT | SHOCK RESISTANT" with "N3" stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped "T-3188" followed by "TAIWAN." The crystal shows scratching. The 17 jewels unadjusted "IIDP" stamped manual wind movement keeps accurate time. After recently winding the signed, non-screwdown crown 25 full revolutions the movement, which fired up after about 15 winds, had an approximate 41 hour power reserve. The crown winds smoothly. Given the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 34.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 8 mm. This watch comes on what I believe to be its original stainless steel bracelet with "PROSPECT" stamped buckle/clasp that shows moderate wear and stretch. I'd guesstimate that it may accommodate up to an approximate 7 inch wrist. The buckle/clasp snaps shut without issue. As most clearly seen in pictures 14 and 15 a piece of the bracelet is missing, requiring replacement prior to being worn. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 19 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking! ***********Although the manual wind movement keeps accurate time over an approximate 41 hour power reserve period given its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.
