Vintage Excellent 1980s-1990s Resistol Crystal Rancher Beaver 4X Sz 7-1/8

Description: Here’s a great Older Vintage 1980s -1990s Rancher style cowboy hat, size 7-1/8, 4X Beaver. This is the OLD vintage Beaver and Nothing like you find in todays or yesterdays hats! This is Extremely Soft and Pliable! Unlike the newer ones that we have looked at, they are just to Hard and Stiff! Well that’s our own opinion. The 4 inch wide brim really makes this hat stand out! Along with that HorseHair hatband (end of hatband). It’s a very unique hatband. We haven’t seen one quite like this before. At nearly 16 inches long this will require a LARGE a shipping box so it’s going to cost a couple more dollars than most of the hat we have listed. That is the original Hatband! The Horsehair end and fancy braiding just makes this hat stand out! That’s a metal catch on the end of the horsehair hatband! NOT PLASTIC! This was worn less than a handful of times. You can see the leather sweatband has NO wear on it at all! It’s completely and securely attached all the way around and still very soft and pliable! This was found in the shape pictured. Dad and Grandson just did a bit of a touchup with steamer to make the shape a bit more defined. That original shaping has that very slight dip on the brim in the front and back. Just a very sharp look! The color is-called “Crystal”. It’s can be described like a lighter SilverBelly color. See picture of The picture of the whole underside is the best representation of the actual color. It is easy to identify this as a 1970-1980s by the liner design and the printing of the 4X Beaver. This was actually manufactured by Resistol. This is NOT a a HATCO product, very big difference. These older Beaver hats are so easy to work with! This is very soft and pliable and so very easily steamed and shaped.This is NOT anything like the newer, EXTREMELY stiff Resistol or Stetson or other manufacturers hat! The hat is BIG so shipping is a couple of dollars more than we usually charge.If you have any questions please write us. There is a hat tag states 7 Long Oval but this measures to a perfect 7-1/8 at 22-3/8 inches. See pictures. We actually measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, whether tagged or not. Since it states Long Oval we are measuring the length and width of the head hole. This would easily conform to a Regular Oval easily. The leather is very soft and pliable and it will conform to head shapes. If you’d like Dad to place this on one of his Regular OVAL old wooden hat forms just write to us. It will certainly quicken the pace of the shaping. Dad uses glove oil on the leather sweatband that also helps the conforming to a Regular Oval too but this can easily be done after you buy it.
