Description: These rare Japanese vintage cloisonne dark green vases show colorful earth-toned colored butterflies throughout. The dark green has subtle flicks of metallic dark green and some copper flecks, while the colors in the butterflies are beiges, peaches, dark greys, rust, cobalt blue, tan, dab of aqua in one butterfly, off white, black, very light green, and a range of browns. The vases are not an exact matching pair, but they are very close. Most of the colors are the same within each vase, but there are some slight differences. The height of each vase is 4.75 inches, 2.5 inches in maximum diameter, and they weigh 5 ounces each. I see very few vases out there similar to these that are either for sale or sold, and they are the most beautiful ones, in my opinion. They may be antique meji period vases, but I am not sure, so listing just as vintage. The work on these also appears to be of great quality. No chips or breakage found, just some wear commensurate with age and some use, see photos for more information.
