VTG Vintage Florsheim Imperial 93602 Wingtips Longwings Gunboats V-Cleat 12D

Description: This is a pair of absolutely beautiful 1960s Florsheim Imperial 93602 longwing wingtips with reverse natural patina that have been recrafted by Wyatt & Dad. The recraft was a $415 job. They have not been worn since the recraft. This recraft was Wyatt & Dad's Oak Barrel custom job which included replacing the cork footbed, double row brass nails with stacked leather and dovetail rubber heel, new storm welt with medium brown top stitch, leather mid-sole, and JR leather outsole soles. The Wyatt & Dad logo is debossed into the outsole and the entire outsole is custom stained two-tone antique brown as are the sole edges. A steel shank was also added. Arguably, this resole is FAR superior to what the shoe came with from the factory and its extremely beautiful craftsmanship typical of Wyatt & Dad. It makes for essentially the ultimate vintage brogues. The "JF" date code on these shoes (J=October, F= year last digit 5) combined with the original v-cleat that was flush with the outside of the original heel gives an October 1965 date of manufacture (the v-cleat was inset after 1973 so the year code "5" must be for 1965). I've included a photo of the heel showing the flush v-cleat before they were recrafted. These are in EXTRAORDINARY condition for being almost 60 years old. These shoes are not perfect however. The inside heal counter on the left shoe is showing two small separations near the top edge (see photo). At some point the heel counter will need to be replaced. There is also a 1.5" scratch (it is not a cut) on the outside of the left shoe just forward of the waist, and there a minor nick on the toe of the same shoe. I've chosen not to repair any of these things because at this point they are all superficial or add to the vintage patina. I hate to part with these shoes because I think they are so awesome but I have too many custom shoes (and more on the way) and something has to give. I never offer returns for my ebay listings, but I'm going to make an exception for these shoes because a.) they are vintage shoes and I want you to be happy in the condition and fit, and b.) I'm convinced that once you receive them, if they fit, you will love them and want to keep them. I don't think you will ever encounter another pair of vintage Florsheim longwings like this - I know I haven't.
